Keywords:
Rutiflav tea, Prunus dulcis, acute toxicity, LD₅₀, OECD 420.Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the acute oral toxicity of Rutiflav tea prepared from the bark of Prunus dulcis. The experiment was conducted on white laboratory mice using the OECD 420 fixed-dose procedure. A single oral dose of 5000 mg/kg was administered. No mortality was observed during the 14-day observation period. Transient behavioral changes, including increased respiration and reduced activity, were observed but disappeared within 20 minutes. The LD₅₀ value was determined to be greater than 5000 mg/kg. According to OECD classification, the preparation belongs to toxicity class VI (relatively non-toxic substances). These findings confirm the safety profile of Rutiflav tea and support its further pharmacological investigation.
