TOXICOLOGICAL SAFETY EVALUATION OF THE "BIOFLAV"MULTICOMPONENT PHYTOPREPARATION
Keywords:

This study evaluated the acute oral toxicity of "Bioflav", a multicomponent phytopreparation derived from the bark of Prunus dulcis, leaves of
Eriobotrya japonica, and flowers of Calendula officinalis. The experiment was conducted on white laboratory mice following the OECD 420 (Fixed Dose Procedure) international guideline. A single oral dose of 5000 mg/kg was administered, followed by a 14-day observation period. No mortality was recorded, and no significant negative changes in body weight were observed compared to the control group. The results demonstrated that the LD50 value is greater than 5000 mg/kg, categorizing the preparation into toxicity class VI (relatively non-toxic substances). These findings confirm the safety profile of "Bioflav" tea and support its potential for further pharmacological investigation.
