Abstract

This research provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of colorbased fixed similes in the Uzbek and English languages. Fixed similes, as stable phraseological units, serve as a cultural bridge reflecting the unique cognitive and environmental contexts of their speakers. Through a contrastive linguistic approach, this study examines how primary colors (white, black, red, green, and yellow) are used to construct figurative meanings. The research identifies that while universal human experiences lead to some overlap in color symbolism, the specific "objects of comparison" (standards) are heavily influenced by local flora, fauna, and historical lifestyles. The findings contribute to the fields of cognitive linguistics, cultural studies, and translation theory.
