This article provides a scholarly analysis of attitudes toward women
through the image of Gulnor in Oybek’s work “The Rich Man and the Servant”. It examines the historical conditions of that period as well as Oybek’s vision of equality between men and women, i.e., gender equality. The use of force against women is considered an act of violence. No form of force, abuse, beating, or physical punishment should be applied to them. It is prescribed to advise them; if that proves ineffective, to gently warn them; and if that too is ineffective, to withdraw from them in their sleeping places. Islam upholds respect and dignity for women and emphasizes the necessity of
creating all conditions for preserving feminine grace, enabling women to fulfill their roles fully and thereby serve their society, homeland, and religion.
