Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of traditional versus gamified
pedagogical methods in teaching English grammar structures to English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. With the increasing integration of technology into educational practices, gamification has emerged as a promising approach to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. This research employs a mixed-methods design, incorporating quantitative assessments and qualitative feedback to compare the grammar acquisition rates among students exposed to both instructional methods. The findings indicate that gamified approaches significantly improve learners’ motivation and retention of grammatical concepts compared to traditional methods. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on innovative teaching strategies in ESL education, providing valuable insights for educators seeking to enhance their instructional practices.
