Abstract

This article analyzes the essence of social development, its main forms,
and driving forces. The dialectical interrelation between the evolutionary, revolutionary, and reform-based forms of social development is explained on the basis of modern sociological paradigms. In addition, the article comparatively examines the linear and cyclical models of social progress.
