Abstract

Women’s legal rights and gender equality have become important priorities in modern Uzbekistan. In recent years, the government has adopted several laws and reforms to protect women from discrimination, violence, and unequal treatment in society. The Constitution of Uzbekistan guarantees equality between men and women, while special laws focus on gender equality, labor rights, education, political participation, and family protection. This thesis analyzes the development of women’s legal rights in Uzbekistan, the role of national legislation, and the challenges that still exist in achieving full gender equality. The study also discusses the influence of international standards such as CEDAW on national legal reforms. Although significant
progress has been achieved, social stereotypes and traditional attitudes continue to create barriers for women in professional and public life.
