Abstract

Remote work has become a defining feature of modern employment, accelerated by improvements of technology and global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic. While remote work offers flexibility, autonomy, and reduced commuting time, it also introduces challenges related to productivity, communication, and work-life boundaries. This paper examines the effects of remote work on productivity and work-life balance,
analyzing both positive and negative outcomes. Using a qualitative review of academic studies, organizational reports, and survey data, the study highlights how remote work influences employee performance, stress levels, and job satisfaction. Findings indicate that while remote work can enhance efficiency and autonomy, blurred boundaries between work and personal life, social isolation, and technological challenges can undermine overall well-being. The paper concludes that effective management strategies, organizational support, and employee self-regulation are crucial to maximizing the benefits of remote work while mitigating its drawbacks.
