Abstract

Cultural development refers to the increasing interconnectedness of cultures through the exchange of ideas, values, media, and consumer products across national borders. While it promotes cross-cultural understanding, innovation, and economic opportunities, it also
poses difficulties to local traditions, identities, and cultural heritage. This search examines the influence of cultural globalization on local traditions, exploring both positive and negative impacts. Using a qualitative review of academic studies, policy reports, and case studies from diverse regions, the study highlights how global media, tourism, and consumer culture reshape local practices. Findings indicate that while globalization facilitates cultural exchange and modernization, it can also lead to the homogenization of cultural practices and the erosion of traditional knowledge. The paper
concludes that balancing global influence with the preservation of local traditions is essential for sustainable cultural development.
