Mental health difficulties among university students have become a critical concern worldwide due to academic pressures, social transitions, financial stress, and lifestyle changes. Issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, and sleep disturbances are prevalent in higher education settings, affecting students’ well-being, academic performance, and social interactions. This paper examines the factors contributing to mental health challenges among university students, the prevalence of these issues, and strategies for prevention and support. Using a qualitative review of recent research, surveys, and institutional reports, the study identifies the complex interplay between academic, social, and personal factors influencing mental health. Findings highlight the importance of early intervention, accessible counseling services, and mental health awareness programs. The paper concludes that promoting mental well-being in universities requires coordinated efforts among educational institutions, families, and policymakers to ensure sustainable support for students
