This article explores the impact of parenting styles in modern families on
the psychological well-being, self-awareness, and social adaptation of children. The
study provides a comparative analysis of the psychological consequences of
authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful parenting models based on Diana
Baumrind's theory and contemporary empirical data. The research specifically examines
the role of parental control in the development of emotional intelligence and the
prevention of deviant behavior. Furthermore, it discusses the transformation of parent
child relationships in the digital age, emphasizing the negative effects of "phubbing"
(technological neglect) on the child's psyche. The study concludes with practical
recommendations for enhancing parents' pedagogical competence.
