Organizing international sports events requires complex
management architectures that integrate multi-stakeholder governance, resource
allocation, and risk mitigation strategies. This study evaluates the efficacy of key
management mechanisms employed in major international sporting competitions.
Utilizing a mixed-methods research framework combining quantitative
performance indicators (N = 45 international sports events) and qualitative semistructured interviews with event managers (n = 12), we identify key drivers of
organizational success. The findings reveal that hybrid management structures
combining centralized strategic control with decentralized operational execution
demonstrate a 28% higher operational efficiency and 22% higher stakeholder
satisfaction compared to rigid hierarchical models. Furthermore, dynamic risk
management frameworks directly correlate with budget adherence and venue
readiness. The paper concludes with actionable recommendations for sports
administrators and host country organizing committees.
