Abstract

This article systematically analyzes scientifically grounded,
age-appropriate, and sport-specific methods for developing speed-related physical
qualities in swimmers aged 10–13. This age period is considered the most
sensitive stage for the formation of neurophysiological qualities such as speed,
movement frequency, and reaction time in children. The findings indicate that, in
developing speed qualities among 10–13-year-old swimmers, game-based
methods, combined methods, short-distance sprint training, and interval methods
are more effective than traditional repetitive training methods.
