Abstract

Digital transformation is a pivotal force for SME competitive advantage and economic growth, particularly in emerging economies like Uzbekistan. Despite its global importance, empirical research specifically investigating this relationship within Uzbekistan's unique socio-economic context remains limited. The aim of this study is to empirically analyze the impact of digital transformation on the economic performance of SMEs in Uzbekistan. This research employs a systematic literature review, synthesizing empirical evidence from 14 peer-reviewed articles published since 2020, identified across Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. The review consistently reveals a robust and significant positive influence of digital transformation on SME economic performance, enhancing financial outcomes, operational efficiency, and market reach. Key dimensions impacting performance include innovation capabilities, dynamic capabilities, digital capabilities, entrepreneurial orientation, and business model innovation. These findings highlight the generalizability of digital transformation's benefits and offer crucial insights for sustainable economic growth strategies in Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries.
