This article examines the symbolic and allegorical meaning of the “wise person” concept in Yusuf Khass Hajib’s “Kutadgu Bilig.” The characters Ögdülmiş, Özgürmiş, Kün Togdı, and Ay Toldı are interpreted as interconnected stages of human spiritual development. Through an analysis of the dialogues and the “palace” metaphor, the article explores the inner world of the individual and the relationships among reason, faith, the heart, and responsibility. The analysis argues that the “wise person” represents an ideal of human perfection that unites knowledge, intellectual understanding, faith, and purity of heart.
