This article examines the international legal obligations of states to ensure consular immunities and privileges, as well as issues of international legal responsibility arising from their violation. The study analyzes the legal nature of consular immunities and privileges, the specifics of their international legal regulation, and the obligations of states towards consular institutions and consular officers. In addition, the article considers cases of violations of consular inviolability encountered in international practice and the related issues of state responsibility under international law. The research identifies existing shortcomings in the international legal mechanisms for the protection of consular immunities and privileges and proposes scientific and practical recommendations aimed at their improvement.
