Parliamentary diplomacy (PD) is gaining increasing importance in the modern system of international relations, complementing traditional diplomatic forms due to globalization, transnational threats, and the growing need for international cooperation. For Uzbekistan, PD has become a strategic component of its active and open foreign policy under the "New Uzbekistan Strategy". The aim of this study is to comprehensively analyze the role and development prospects of parliamentary diplomacy in Uzbekistan's foreign policy. This qualitative study is based on a thorough examination of existing scientific literature, official documents, and reports from international organizations. Data collection utilized international scientific databases like Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and national research platforms, covering the period from 2020 to the present. The research observed a significant activation of Uzbekistan's parliamentary diplomacy during the study period, which is an integral part of the country's open and pragmatic foreign policy. Key achievements include the strengthening of legal frameworks, the effective functioning of inter-parliamentary friendship groups, active participation in international parliamentary organizations (such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, CIS IPA, TURKPA), and an improved international image through parliamentary delegations' visits and forum participation. These findings highlight PD's crucial role in strengthening Uzbekistan's international standing and promoting its foreign policy priorities.
