Abstract

The article analyzes the factors of water resources formation in Southern Uzbekistan (Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions) and the territorial features of their use. It describes how the region’s water resources are formed by the flow of local rivers and the Amu Darya, as well as the role of canals and reservoirs. The main problems of water use are identified, including water losses, the high cost of pump irrigation and soil salinization. Recommendations for the rational use of water resources based on integrated management are proposed.
