It is no exaggeration to say that currently the ideas of ecological security
and green development have taken a leading place in the programs of all influential international organizations and in diplomatic relations between countries. The fact that our country, as a member of this important process, has joined a number of international agreements on ensuring ecological security and sustainability is the basis for a unique improvement in cooperation in this area. This article is devoted to the scientific and
pedagogical aspects of developing students' ecological culture in higher educational institutions, and it highlights the relevance of ecological education, important tasks in developing ecological competence in students, and the basic qualities of ecological knowledge and ecological competence.
